I’m sure it hasn’t escaped your notice that shop shelves are currently stuffed full of notepads, pens and pencil cases.
September is a great time to knuckle down and get some solid learning and development done. It feels like a bit of a cliche because of the whole concept of going back to school – but remember that learning doesn’t just have to be for the school kids.
There are plenty of things that you could look to upskill on over the next few months. We’ve picked out three below that feel particularly important. Let’s dive in.
Cyber security
The first place to look at upskilling is around cyber security. There have been a lot of high profile Breaches this year which has thrown into pretty stark relief how important good security is and how it is everyone’s responsibility.
The reason for recommending training is because the term cyber security sounds big, scary and slightly impenetrable. However with the right training and support it is easy to start getting your team into a space where straightforward security considerations are the norm.
Artificial intelligence
The past couple of years has seen a big uptick in people thinking about and trying to implement AI into their work. There is of course a lot of noise around this area and it can feel quite remote if you aren’t steeped in it every day.
Given that it will increasingly play a part in how we work and do business it’s well worth getting some training in on it. Even if that is just about getting a basic grip of what it is and how it can improve your productivity, knowledge is power.
Marketing and business development
An underrated area of learning and develop for business owners around marketing and business development, but this shouldn’t be neglected. This is really the life blood business growth and help you to focus on getting new customers through the door and keeping your existing ones for longer.
Of all the areas that you can get training on the options here are going to be the widest. So have a think about what you really want to build on and seek that out as a starting point.
Hopefully this short run down has inspired you to get some learning and development booked in.
