Whilst now is the season for giving gifts, it’s also a very good time to reflect on the year ahead and set out some goals for you and your business. Here are three IT resolutions we think you should make for 2021.
We’ve written before on this blog about needing to spend the time ensuring that the data you have in your business is both up to date and secure. You can read some of our top tips around this back in this article.
However, now at the start of a new year, there is no better time to take a clean slate and take a look over the data you have. Take a deep dive into what data you collect, who you collect it from, how are you using it and do you need anything else. Taking the time to do this now can be good for your GDPR compliance and could even help with some of your marketing efforts!
Many of us have spent much of the last year working from home. It really isn’t a stretch to say that it has significantly shifted the way that we are experiencing and viewing work now. Obviously too many this shift away from the office is beneficial, but with the benefits also come responsibilities particularly if you are the person managing a business through this transition.
The new year is a perfect time to discuss with your staff how they have found working from home. What has been good, what has been challenging. Ask them if there could be any technological changes made that would help them to work more seamlessly. As your staff team are going to be using your business tech day in day out it’s well worth taking the time to see how they think it can be improved – they will appreciate being listened to and you may well make some significant improvements and improve productivity.
3 – Plan for the year ahead
As stated above, one of the best things that you can do for yourself and your business in January is plan. Given that this past year is one that has been filled with a lot of change and turmoil – spending that time now, could actually make things a heck of a lot easier for you further down the road. And given that the other two resolutions that we’ve suggested are about ensuring you manage your data better and reviewing your IT needs with your staff – this is the natural next step.
Luckily this isn’t something that you need to do alone if you don’t feel confident planning out your own IT needs, and Webby Tech are here to help you out as needed. IT consultancy is just part of the services that we offer and we promise that our clients will receive:
