Businesses have loved Windows 7 since way back in 2009 and quite rightly as the operating system introduced ease of use and new features galore over Windows XP (let’s forget the abysmal Vista!!) However technology moves on and Microsoft have announced the End Of Support (EOS) for Windows 7 will be 14 January 2020. You will soon begin to see messages pop up as Microsoft push down an update to advise of this.
What does EOS mean for you and your business? Essentially having any Windows 7 devices left on your network after the EOS date will leave you vulnerable to security risks and viruses as there will be no further security updates released. History teaches us how important updates are – think back to WannaCry encryption virus and the disruption it caused – all because there were outdated computers on the network. Microsoft customer service will also no longer be available to provide Windows 7 technical support.
So whether your entire computer estate is currently Windows 7 or you have just a handful left, now is the right time to be planning to replace or upgrade these machines.
It could be a daunting task or just an IT overhead that you hadn’t counted on and need help! That’s where WebbyTech can step in, we will provide a free of charge audit of your computers and provide you with a report of those that need replacing and those that are candidates to be upgraded to Windows 10. We can take care of the whole process, from the initial audit to supply the required new computers, upgrade components, software licenses and roll out for each user.
