With Christmas right around the corner you may be busy pulling together a wish list. If you are a busy business owner you might already be thinking about the things you are wishing for to support you driving your business forward.
This week we are thinking about the things that might be on that wish list. So if you have a business owner in your life, or if you want to treat yourself, you can – just in time for Christmas.
Lets dive in.
The right technology for the workplace
This is more than about having the most snazzy and up to date laptop or smartphone. Really this is about having the right tools to do the job, and being able to do that job quickly and efficiently.
More so than simply getting a bunch of new laptops for the office, the technology on a business owners wishlist could be software that streamlines processes or helps the wider team to collaborate more effectively.
Time saving
That point on collaboration brings us nicely onto the second thing we think is on wishlists – saving time. Really it’s a finite resource, and it’s certainly something that all of us would want more of (let alone a busy business owner).
So how can a business owner save time? It falls into two brackets – using the right tools and technology it is possible to delegate or automate administrative tasks that arent hard but do take up time. The secondary point is more about building habits and routines which help to maximise the efficiency in a day. Which brings us on to…
Professional development for them and staff
Learning new skills is one of the best things we can do for our professional development, but it is often put on the back burner when we are up against the day to day stressors of our work.
There is plenty of business topics that can be learnt about, finance to project management, AI to time management. A short search will often help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
Business books
And if in doubt, this will be a decent stocking filler. There is usually at least a small nugget of information that makes you think differently or try to implement something new.
If you’re stuck on where to start, we’ve pulled together reading lists previously that you can draw on.
